Integrating artificial intelligence into vocational subject teaching

Trnava, 4 February 2026 – On 4 February, Assoc. Prof. PaedDr. Juraj Miština, PhD., held a meeting at the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering in Trnava, Slovakia, with the school’s Principal, Mgr. Lukáš Ilavský, to discuss opportunities for cooperation with the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, in the field of integrating artificial intelligence into vocational subject teaching and providing in-service teacher training in this area.
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Miština informed the school about the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training (VET) project, entitled “VETAssIst – Artificial Intelligence as VET Teacher Assistant”, and presented an opportunity to participate in. The proposed collaboration would involve a blended learning course for teachers, designed to enhance their competencies in applying artificial intelligence in vocational education.
The Secondary School of Electrical Engineering provides upper secondary education at ISCED level 3 (full secondary vocational education), secondary vocational education, and dual education. The school is equipped with modern, specialised classrooms and is currently developing a dedicated AI laboratory to further strengthen its technological infrastructure.
Both parties expressed their mutual interest in establishing a beneficial partnership and agreed to prepare and sign a memorandum of cooperation in the near future.
